We planned The Civic Ecologies of Green Square during 2020, a year dominated by the digital, with very few face to face meetings and exchanges of artefacts. By the time we first met with Jennifer Noorbergen, Community Engagement and Venue Manager of our partner Joynton Avenue Creative Centre, we had already well and truly begun. So it was an absolute treat to be handed a beautiful colourful envelope with the map and booklet from Green Threaded Stories.

As we map civic ecologies in Green Square, this project is an important precedent.

Designed by Jeff McCann, the map helps residents and visitors to explore Green Square as Gadigal Country, wetlands, biodiversity habitat, and industrial infrastructure. In other words, Green Square is more than a construction site.
